Better off busy is a good way to put it. How many first-world problems are solved from just doing something? I find whenever I get my much-sought-after respite from my 2.5 year old, have no clue what to do with my time.
I’m working to make it a habit to ask “what else needs doing around here?” whenever I find spare time. Makes for a happier home and a less cluttered mind.
Thanks so much Dorota! I know it’s a time a lot of people want to forget, but I think it’s important that we take time to reckon with everything we went through - both as individuals and as people more broadly.
This is so great. I think a lot of us need an external kick in the pants to get our lives in shape. For me it was actually COVID itself, since I had three very young kids and needed a certain amount of structure and discipline just to get through the day. I can still see the positive effects of that time in my life now, even if it was very difficult.
Thanks Kelsey! I think that’s a great point - makes me wonder if parents were more likely to come out of COVID stronger for it compared to individuals who were on their own. No idea how someone could study that, but it would be interesting!
Beautifully said, with great humility. I wonder how many people experienced the same derailing from Covid, but can’t quite put their finger on exactly what has gone wrong?
Thanks Lura! I wish I knew - the number of people drifting or derailing hard to quantify and put a stat on - but I'd imagine it's a higher number than a lot of folks would be comfortable with.

Thank you for writing this! So many people were knocked off their stride by the lockdowns and it takes a while to build back the momentum.

I would imagine for parents the results would be pretty mixed!
