I tell my wife all the time. I am so thankful for our "boring" life. Kids love consistency, and we dads have to be the thermostat and not the thermometer.

A boring dad that's present is way better than an exciting dad that's absent.

My favorite weeks are the ones that flow by with a few memorable moments of peace and a few memorable moments of trouble; mostly boring. I think I can make an entire contented life out of these.

Very nice, I want to steal Beige Pill as a term for the future.

The only issue I have is with the bit about men and performance and climbing the ladder. While I'm fully committed to leaning in to being a normie, and have no desire to climb a career ladder, I do think climbing personal goal ladders (fitness, arts, handy hobbies, etc.) is aligned with being a good father and role model. We may have our main calling as providers, but our kids need an example they can be proud of.

Steal away, I’d love to see it out in the world!

And that's a great point - showing our kids success by climbing the right ladders is definitely something to strive for.

Loved reading this. I’m actively trying to relearn that boring isn’t a negative and can actually be a massive positive. If done correctly
